Upcoming Candidates Debates and Forums in Northampton and Easthampton

Northampton mayoral candidates Michael Bardsley and David Narkewicz will appear at four upcoming mayoral debates and forums before voters head to the polls on Nov. 8.
Monday, October 17:
The Smith College Mayoral Debate will be sponsored by the Smith Democrats and co-sponsored by Smith Republicans, Ward4Northampton and the Smith College Government Department and moderated by professor of government Howard Gold. The event is free and open to the public. Northampton mayoral candidates David Narkewicz and Michael Bardsley will field questions from Gold and from the audience. Northampton Community Television will broadcast the event.
7 p.m in the Carroll Room; 2nd floor of the Smith Campus Center.
Tuesday, October 18:
An Easthampton Mayoral Debate will be sponsored by the Daily Hampshire Gazette, the Williston Northampton School and the Easthampton Democratic Committee. Candidates Donald Emerson and incumbent Michael Tautznik will field questions from Daily Hampshire Gazette senior reporter Dan Crowley and Springfield Republican reporter Brian Steele. Easthampton Community Access Television will tape the debate for re-broadcast.
7 p.m. at Williston’s Phillips Stevens Chapel at 45 Park St.
Wednesday, October 19:
The Ward 3 Neighborhood Association will sponsor a public forum for Northampton’s four at-large candidates for City Council, as well as mayoral candidates David Narkewicz and Michael Bardsley. The candidates for the council’s two at-large seats are Michael Janik, William H. Dwight, M.J. Adams-Pullan and incumbent Jesse M. Adams.
The event will be moderated by Kerry Buckley, executive director of Historic Northampton.
7 p.m. at the Bridge Street School cafeteria
Saturday, October 29:
At a Mayoral Forum for the LGBT Community, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) voters and their allies will have an opportunity to get to know Northampton mayoral candidates Michael Bardsley and David Narkewicz. The candidates will introduce themselves and share their views on local and regional social justice and civil rights issues. Each candidate will then take questions directly from audience members.
3-5 p.m. at the State Room, 35 State St.
Tuesday, November 1:
The Daily Hampshire Gazette mayoral debate will be moderated by Gazette editor Larry Parnass and feature questions from journalists. The panel will consist of Gazette city editor Laurie Loisel, Gazette senior reporter Dan Crowley, WHMP morning show host Bob Flaherty, and Northampton Media reporter Mary Serreze. The event will be broadcast by Northampton Community Television and WHMP radio.
